VDC Director Aaron Ball has a passion for reducing waste in the construction industry based on a belief in continual improvement using technology and process. Aaron looks at situations through a different set of lenses, often pulled into a wide range of opportunities to find solutions from construction means and methods, to technical troubleshooting, to big-picture planning. He is detail-focused and driven to overcome new challenges; he strives to move the needle on the industry-wide acceptance of BIM/VDC. With a focus on teamwork and technology integration, Aaron brings a lifetime of construction and manufacturing experience. Fostering a collaborative environment based on empathy and communication, he drives construction into the VDC/BIM era with his research and technological solutions. Aaron is researching and developing technical solutions that improve communication.
Aaron spends time with his family outside work and enjoys live music outdoors. A fun fact, Aaron also has a musical background, writing music and playing drums in Hard Rock and Punk Metal bands for nearly two decades while working in construction.

As Vice President of JTM, Troy is a builder at heart. He brings his leadership and a high level of quality and expertise to all projects during preconstruction through construction. Troy is well-versed in budget management, time-to-market strategies, constructability, knowledgeable in alternative delivery methods such as Design-Build, VDC, and BIM. His thoughtful and measured approach and attention to detail lead to strong client relationships and set up every team and project for success. He has worked on a wide range of projects, including office, mixed-use, life sciences, higher education, high-end residential, and hospitality.
A local Seattlite, Troy grew up in the construction industry. First with his grandfather and father building homes, then as a material handler and professional for mechanical and general contractors. His passion for building, leadership, and providing value to clients is unwavering. And when not at work, you can find him on the golf course or with his family.

Anthony’s father was a hardworking construction professional who taught him the value of how to build a box accurately and how to take it apart again. You could say that he is genetically drawn to design and construction—a creative individual with a strong fine arts background and an experienced carpenter. As a VDC Coordinator, he helps clients visualize the end goal and collaborate with design teams and construction professionals using virtual design software to transform a digital structure into reality.
He enjoys getting into the details and finding solutions for constructability issues, such as creating a Revit Model for self-perform teams. The model supported checking slab edge accuracy and occasional embed placement. No surprise this construction geek’s favorite part of a project, the implementation, and execution phase, where you see all the planning coming together.
Anthony is a hands-on craftsman working on his projects outside of work. Family is also important spending time with his fiancé, parents, and siblings is essential. Aside from working hard and staying active, Anthony’s goal is to purchase his first home and apply his design and building knowledge to an old fixer-upper.

With over 30 years of commercial construction experience, Drew was drawn to construction out of a love of problem-solving and always wanting to do things better. He started his career as a carpenter working his way up through the ranks to Superintendent. Drew’s experience has primarily been life science projects which are of particular interest, doing his part to help researchers achieve their goals.
Drew’s expertise includes ground-up, tenant improvement, office, education, high-tech, and retail, along with life sciences. Day-to-day activities include preconstruction planning, identifying constructability issues, producing schedules and site logistic plans, as well as liaising with city agencies. Drew’s collaborative win-win leadership style goes the extra mile to help the field, clients, and partners complete projects with a high level of quality, on time, within budget, and safely.

When Ben is not working, you can find him sailing in the Puget Sound or hiking in the Cascades.

Jenni has gleaned invaluable experiences in various finance/accounting roles over the years, including auditing and commercial banking, but found her passion in the construction industry when she transitioned to the private sector in 2010 and started working for JTM. As CFO, Jenni is responsible for financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, IT, corporate insurance, and employee benefits. She is the Core Services group leader, which provides support to all JTM employees for everything from payroll to project administration. Jenni also manages external relationships with audit, tax, banking, investment, and insurance professionals. She is proud to be a part of the JTM family and loves supporting the growth, problem-solving, success, and relationships that develop with clients, project teams, and trade partners.
When not counting the beans, Jenni enjoys playing tennis, backpacking, keeping up with her chocolate lab (Linus), and trying to figure out how to fly fish and finish a round of golf in less than 120 strokes.

Jimmy brings more than 15 years of experience in construction project management to his role at JTM. As Special Project Group Manager, he collaborates closely with clients, building rapport and earning trust necessary to deliver safe, efficient, and quality projects from preconstruction through completion—on schedule and on budget. Jimmy’s commitment to communication, along with his organizational skills and attention to detail, allows him to proactively identify challenges and work through solutions both in the design phase and in the field.
Jimmy grew up in Vancouver, WA, attended the University of Washington, and has loved living in the area ever since graduating. On the weekend, there’s a good chance he’s hitting the slopes or hitting the links, depending on the season. Fun fact: Jimmy played trumpet in the Seattle Sounders’ Marching Band for three years.

Torrey is a jack of all trades with vast experience in various commercial building types. Whether office, life science, or residential, there are very few things Torrey has not seen before. He applies his experience to his project, providing the team with the confidence and creativity necessary to complete the most complex challenges. He has always wanted to build the kind of structures that contribute to this city’s amazing skyline. After graduating from the University of Washington, his first project was a 46-story highrise project. Since then, I’ve had the opportunity to impact Puget Sound cities’ skylines working on skyscrapers, historic hotel renovation, and large residential projects.

Senior Project Manager Philip Dearing has over 32 years of construction experience, including all market sectors, private and public work from high-rise (office and multi-family), healthcare, high-tech, industrial, structural seismic upgrades, retail, and large site developments.
It is what Philip enjoys most about his job solving the day-to-day challenges by making the seemingly impossible possible. There is nothing more rewarding than seeing a satisfied client at the end of the project, having collaborated to bring their vision to life through creativity and hard work. His favorite part of the project lifecycle is the final one-third “drive” to the finish when the project comes together, and we experience the pride of the finished product with our client.
Philip came to the United States with not much than a suitcase. Now he lives the American Dream, spending time with his family, following Liverpool Football Club, traveling, and reading. He is also a world history buff; ask him anything.

Derek has a multi-faceted, diverse background and the ability to scale up or down from complex tenant improvements to ground-up high rises. For over a decade, he has worked in the construction industry and Puget Sound, specifically at JTM. As Senior Project Manager, Derek oversees the project and creates continuity from preconstruction through construction. He engages and challenges the design teams and clients to think outside the box to meet their objectives.
Derek thrives on the details, from the preconstruction phase, preplanning and sequencing, budget development, quality controls, and managing the job through closeout. But enjoys the project startup phase – during this time, the project team bonds start forming, and creative thinking occurs. It’s less about your job title and/or role at that point and more about making sure that the collective team is all-in to do whatever needs to keep the project moving along. The Esterra 3 exemplifies this; the team gelled instantly and had each other’s backs, and the project was successful and the client happy. His commitment to the client and their project is unwavering.
Fun Fact: Derek is the “deal guy” in the office—people come to him when they are looking to find a good deal on something work-related and non-work-related.

He started his undergraduate in Biology and then transitioned into construction management while pursuing his master’s degree at the University of Washington. There are critical skills that individuals need to employ simultaneously to succeed in the construction industry, from finance to project logistics to communication to leadership. Finding ways to balance these skills is what he enjoys most about his job. Every day is a challenge, and every day is different.

James created his role as Survey Superintendent. He saw the future of the 3D building lasar scanning technology, merging his strong communication skills, interacting with all of the team members and every phase of the projects, and seeing all the projects from start to finish.
While the technology has improved quality and accuracy, helps reduce rework, and cuts costs. It also reduces manual labor and streamlines coordination and collaboration on-site. James enjoys the interaction and partnerships with the JTM team members, clients, and partners employees, and he is involved in every phase of the projects from start to finish. Known as the “scanning guy,” James has shown proof of what 3D lasar scanning provides on the projects and the many benefits when implemented early.
John, along with his partners, Tom Titus and Martin O’Leary, created JTM Construction to offer a responsive local alternative to the local construction community. Construction is John’s passion; and has enjoyed watching the JTM team grow and take on amazing, iconic projects, and sees even greater opportunities. He believes we must give back and is heavily involved in community groups. Our clients know and trust John to build their work.

In his time with JTM, Bryden has worked on a variety of project types, from Amazon kitchenette replacement work to dazzling spaces such as Princi for the Starbucks Roastery. Regardless of project size, his commitment to a project is unwavering and places as much investment and care into a thousand-dollar project as a multi-million dollar project.

As one of JTM’s most experienced superintendents, Chris brings his knowledge of construction to the forefront of the Special Projects Group preconstruction efforts. His ability to visualize the project and clear understanding of how the execution is captured effectively with his development of project schedules and site logistic planning. Using P6 as his tool, Chris can compile complete project schedules for complex interior renovations that require multiple phasing and sequencing, all while minimizing impacts to the tenants. His strong communication skills allow him to collaborate both internally and externally with the preconstruction team members. He is a builder at heart but brings his passion for construction to plan and develop new and exciting projects for our clients and design partners.

Justin joined JTM in 2021 and sees the field of safety management continually progressing. Job hazard assessments, pre-task planning, and incentivizing safe behaviors are all leading indicators recognized as positive tools, but today’s expectations on safety performance demand a safety system that can encompass all while being crafted down to the individual. As a Certified Safety Professional (CSP) with experience in several safety roles and settings, in combination with continuing education and research in the Occupational Health Psychology realm, Justin is able to conceptualize and perform this progressive safety methodology.
And, of course, he is excited for the upcoming seasons watching the NHL Kracken and the WNBA Champion Storm on their new home court.

As Assistant Safety Director, Dave oversees the day-to-day operations in the safety department and supports project safety performance. He ensures workplace safety for the 150+ employees of JTM Construction. Dave assists in implementing and coordinating the company’s comprehensive safety training program, which includes occupational, industrial, and environmental safety. Dave supports all jobsite safety professionals and programs, safety training and responds to reported accidents, evaluating current best practices, and recommending changes where necessary.
Project Controls Director Cohen Morris has over 20 years of construction experience as a Project Accountant and Project Manager. He uses his construction experience and knowledge to improve JTM’s construction administration, cost management, document control, and construction accounting practices to ensure consistency and accuracy across all projects. Along with working with the project team, identifying and resolving issues or obstacles on a project. Cohen finds the most satisfying part of the project is the installation of the finishes and seeing the final stages completed.
During his downtime, it is his family time, cooking, and traveling.

At JTM, Project Manager Brian Neal has been exposed to every division in construction, and the opportunity is always there to take ownership, run with it and build your knowledge base. Brian finds it most satisfying and enjoys seeing the results of months or years-long design and trade coordination come into reality on-site. Brian’s main focus is on exterior scopes – glazing, cladding and paneling, roofing, waterproofing, masonry and stone, weather barriers, and building envelope. Construction is his favorite part of the project cycle – is all the parts and pieces of the coordination and procurement process coming together to make a polished final product.
He has worked on two of JTM’s most significant projects, the F5 Tower and the Avenue Bellevue project. Big, high-profile projects push your comfort zone and make you better, more effective, and more competent at managing the work.
Brian enjoys his downtime with his son and dog, doing outdoor activities from hiking, fishing, hunting, and camping.

With over 13-years at JTM, Kyle is one of JTM’s most experienced and trusted managers. His track record of delivering large, complex, ground-up projects can be attributed mainly to the partnerships he creates with our clients and design team members to work in unison through all project phases. He focuses on each team member’s definition of a successful project and uses those definitions to help drive meaningful decisions. Kyle’s other attributes include strong estimating and scheduling technical skills, an ability and willingness to dive into the details without compromising a knack for managing large teams, and deep relationships with the Seattle area’s subcontractor community.
During Kyle’s construction management study at Washington State University, significant and defining projects within major city centers fascinated him. Working at JTM, Kyle has been fortunate enough to put that fascination into practice on projects like Olive 8, Stadium Place (The NOLO and The WAVE), The LeMay America’s Car Museum, and the Weyerhaeuser Headquarters at 200 Occidental.

Martin has nearly 30 years of construction experience in the Puget Sound area, with extensive experience in building complicated and challenging projects in all market sectors. His technical skills, leadership abilities, honesty, dependability, and collaborative team-focused approach to all his projects have helped him earn the respect of all of the clients, design team members, and subcontractors with have worked. He is able to control the preconstruction process through successful project completion. Martin is truly passionate about fostering long-term relationships with all project team members and over-delivering on the services we provide.

Matt, a detail-oriented person, brings over seven years of project management experience and has worked on large-scale private and public projects throughout the Pacific Northwest region. He prides himself on constant, effective communication and time management, navigating the project logistics with client relationships, data management, budgeting, and project management. Matt also brings his knowledge and experience to a project in urban design and landscape services, demolition, and abatement fields of work.
A Special Projects Group Project Manager must be a multifaceted team member wearing several hats each day and adapt from the constant evolution of each week. A favorite project to date is working with Mirabella. He enjoyed the client updating their public spaces with modern designs and finishes.
Matt grew up in Colton, Washington, made his way down to Florida for eight years. But ultimately moved back to the Northwest and is happy to be back home with family and friends. Also, he wasn’t crazy about the snakes in Florida.

A carpenter at heart, Jim always is working on projects at home, is an avid reader, and a hobby gardener. He takes every opportunity to spend time with my motorcycle. And when he can incorporate his wife and family, so much, the better.
An experienced and talented team player, Martin Sanchez brings over 19 years of experience to his role at JTM, where he works closely to ensure a seamless construction project. His expertise includes large concrete structures, office buildings, occupied buildings, and quality assurance proficiency. His expertise includes managing, scheduling, planning self-perform concrete and carpentry, and MEP planning while ensuring the safe and accurate execution of the work. Martin is also proficient in coordinating trade partners/subcontractors and underground utility coordination. Additionally, he is experienced in developing work plans for both owners and workers that communicate the construction process.
Martin began working on high-rises as an apprentice on the Olive 8 tower; to date, it is one of his favorite projects. He was able to work through many phases of the project, including the concrete structure, demobilization of the material hoist, and interior finishes. “It was hands down a fun job.”
Martin is bilingual in Spanish in a written and spoken capacity. In his free time, Martin enjoys date night with his wife, Rebecca, going to museums, cruising Alki in his 1972 Cutlass with his classic car club, and collecting sneakers to fill his custom-built shoe closet.

Tom joined Martin O’Leary and John Hayduk to start JTM Construction in 2005. As the chief operating officer, Tom is responsible for building upon JTM’s strengths – production, manpower, and scheduling – keeping these fundamental rules of building in mind maintains a consistent cost side. As a builder, Tom started his career, which has spanned more than 30 from field management, superintendent, project manager to operational leadership for JTM. Building a successful company from the ground up and surrounding yourself with talented builders has been a gratifying experience.

A favorite part of a project lifecycle is right after the enclosure is completed to a point where the interior framing is able to begin. That is the first moment when the architect’s vision of how the people move through the building is going to be in real life comes through.
On Carl’s off time, he is working on projects around the house, enjoys golf, sporting, and cultural events, and traveling. A fun fact: Carl’s first job at 14, working the graveyard shift at his parent’s 7 Eleven store.

Chris has always been interested in the building of legacy projects that affect different skylines. After studying Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado Boulder, he entered the construction industry excited by the fast-paced environment. Each project comes with its unique challenges that he enjoys tackling with his teammates and trade partners. Working with different people and the challenges the team conquers together is what is most enjoyable about the job.
Outside of work, Chris spends time with his family, camping, fly-fishing, traveling, and good wine. But it is their bulldog that runs the show.

Corey’s extensive office building experience and working in occupied buildings have prepared him to complete any renovation project. He works closely with the team, trade partner/subcontractors, and the client to ensure the project is completed efficiently and on time. Corey’s attention to detail, planning, thoroughness, excellent communication skills, and his commitment to exceeding the clients’ expectations for every project. His additional skills include engaging trade partners in preplanning, constructability reviews, proactive communication, scheduling, safety, managing site logistics, and setting quality expectations.
With a background in business administration and 20 years of experience in construction, Corey thrives on bringing people together to bring projects to life on site. As Superintendent he is responsible for building project schedules, overseeing all trade partners, and managing permitting and inspections to meet key milestones along the way. Corey’s leadership, keen sense of safety, and passion for collaboration (while having fun) propel projects forward each day.
Born, raised, and rooted in the South Seattle area for his entire life, Corey is a true Northwesterner at heart. Outside of his daily role at JTM, you’ll likely find him spending quality time with his wife and young daughter or lending a hand with home remodeling projects for friends and family.
