Longtime Washington theatrical cirque experience, Teatro ZinZanni, has announced a new residency at Lotte Hotel Seattle at 801 Fifth Ave. in Downtown. The dinner and show experience will run from Oct. 12, 2023, to March 31, 2024, within the hotel’s The Sanctuary grand ballroom and events space.

The Sanctuary building is adjacent to the Lotte Hotel, which is itself located within the F5 office tower that opened in 2017. It was constructed in 1908, as a church, and was formerly home to the First United Methodists. The approximately 3,900-square-foot building was meticulously renovated and transformed into events space in 2017, at a cost of $40 million.

Daniels Real Estate led that project which was part of the company’s development of the F5 Tower.

Lotte Hotels and Resorts, the largest hotel group in South Korea, purchased the hotel and sanctuary portions of F5 from Daniels in 2019. Since then, what was once Downtown Seattle’s oldest church has been used to host a mix of public and private events including, for the last two years, a popular Christmas market.

According to a press release, the one-of-a-kind events space will now be transformed into a signature Teatro ZinZanni experience that will honor the shows 25th anniversary. Attendees can expect a set of unique performances featuring acrobats and aerialists.

The Sanctuary has a soaring 58-foot ceiling and showcases original 1908 stained glass windows and carved woodwork. It is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Teatro ZinZanni says additional show details and single ticket sales will begin this summer; groups of more than 12 can reserve seats and ticket benefits now at zinzanni.com/seattle.

Teatro ZinZanni’s last residency was at the Sodo Park events space, at 3200 First Ave. S., last holiday season. That show marked the production’s first show in Seattle in almost three years.

Teatro ZinZanni was founded in Seattle in 1998.

“We are excited to welcome Teatro ZinZanni to Lotte Hotel Seattle and are proud to be the home of this special limited-time series of productions,” Steven Kalczynski, managing director of Lotte Hotel Seattle, said in the release.

KKR & Co. has owned the office portions of the F5 Tower since 2019.
