Dexter Station

Built For a High-tech Workforce With Demands and Designs for Innovation

Dexter Station is a 346,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art, 10-story, Class A office building with amazing views—located in the fastest-growing part of town. LEED-certified Gold, Dexter Station targets the technology tenant market and has been upgraded in performance to meet the demands of this market sector, delivering five watts per square foot of electrical and cooling capacity. In addition, the building has been structurally upgraded to accommodate a lab tenant and optimized to the specific vibration requirements those tenants require.

  • Address: 1101 Dexter Avenue North, Seattle, WA 98109, USA
  • Status: Completed
  • Client: Capstone Partners
  • Architect: LMN Architects
  • Structural Engineer: Coughlin Porter Lundeen
  • Size: 346,000 SF

The building features flexible and efficient floor-plates varying in size from 24,500 to 53,000 square feet, providing users the ability to custom tailor a space for their unique needs. Wide-open floor spaces and 14-foot clear ceiling heights provide the ideal backdrop for collaborative thinking and innovation. Dexter Station provides more power, backup power, and mechanical flexibility than any other speculative building constructed in the Seattle market. Amenities include outdoor decks, an athletic facility, conference spaces that can accommodate over 100 individuals, and the surrounding vibrant neighborhood. Those who bike to work on the South Lake Union Trail or Dexter Avenue bike paths will have use of secure bike storage, locker rooms, and showers.

This hanging feature piece, comprised of architectural steel and wood,  was the finishing touch on the Dexter Station first-floor lobby.

The level 01 lobby green wall features living plant life and was one of the first of it’s kind to be constructed in the Seattle area. The green wall provides a great contrast to the lobby’s blackened steel and exposed wood elements, bringing the space to life.

“JTM and CPL were the early MVP's to give Dexter Station a hope ticket! Without the creative modifications, the project was a no-go. Thank you!!”
