The high ceiling, along with the striking black-and-white checkerboard floors and anchored by custom-made oak woodwork, are features of this first-floor remodel. The build-out included new coffee, liquor, and dining bar areas. Further exterior storefront modifications on Pine Street included a new curbside coffee service for the hotel guests and the public.

The building, first built in 1898, is both a city landmark and on the National Registry of Places.
