Tacoma Art Museum
Benaroya Wing Expansion

This 30-foot Tall Building Houses Gallery Space for the New Art Glass Collection

The Benaroya Wing addition to the Tacoma Art Museum is a 5,500 square-foot expansion to the iconic Olson Kundig design. Featuring exposed concrete and stainless steel siding materials, this 30-foot tall building will house gallery space for the new art glass collection. Inside, the 15-foot ceilings will have 500 feet of repositionable track lighting which provides maximum flexibility when illuminating the displays. Since the project will be built adjacent to the operating museum, extensive logistics planning and vibration minimization were at the forefront of consideration during construction.
